Ritz Cracker Samosa Bites

Ritz Cracker Samosa Bites – perfect as a snack, party appetizer, or quick bite. You can adjust the filling based on your taste or what you have on hand.

Servings: About 24 bites


Ingredients:

For the Potato Samosa Filling:

  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled, and mashed
  • 1 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of ½ lemon or a dash of amchur (dry mango powder) for tang

For the Assembly:

  • 48 Ritz crackers
  • sev (crispy lentil noodles)
  • Optional garnish: cilantro, tamarind chutney, mint chutney, or yogurt for dipping

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Filling:

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
  • Stir in green chili and ginger-garlic paste. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Cook briefly.
  • Add mashed potatoes and mix well, ensuring the spices are evenly distributed.
  • Season with salt and finish with lemon juice or amchur and chopped cilantro. Let cool slightly.

2. Assemble the Bites:

  • Lay out 24 Ritz crackers on a tray.
  • Spoon a small amount (1–2 tsp) of the samosa filling onto each cracker.
  • press a second cracker on top to form a sandwich bite

3. Serve:

  • Serve immediately for crisp crackers,
  • serve with a dipping into sev such that sev sticks to potato filling.
