Have you also grown up in a household where some days of the week you should eat certain cereals and pulses. Like Wednesday’s you should eat Moong. Saturdays you cannot eat Chana (chickpeas). I don’t know the logic behind it, but for sure I can share a yummy recipe for a moong ! 🙂

Ingredients
- 1 cup boiled moong
- ½ cup – Finely chopped onions
- 1 Finely white part of green onions
- ¼ cup- finally chopped tomatoes
- ¼ tsp of dried mint leaves
- ¼ tsp of chopped coriander
- Oil
- Jeera
- Hing
Recipe:
- Heat up medium pan with 1tbsp oil. Once oil is hot, add cumin, and hing.
- Once cumin crackles, add finely chopped onions both red and green (just the whites) and sauté it for few minutes, until onions are soft.
- Then add – ‘dried mint leaves’ – crush little between palms – Do Not Skip This!!
- Next add chopped coriander. Cook it for few minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and then add all masala’s – turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder. Season it some salt.
- Once tomatoes gets soft enough add some water.
- Finally add boiled moong. And adjust consistency with water.
- And serve with rice or paratha.
